GUESS WHAT - birth can be overwhelming. But it doesn’t have to be.
“Don’t clamp the cord until it stops pulsing! But don’t keep the cord attached for too long otherwise you’ll risk jaundice!”
“Don’t use a bottle otherwise you’ll risk nipple confusion! But don’t wait too long otherwise you won’t be able to take a break!”
When my sister had her first baby, I quickly discovered firsthand just how hard it can be to navigate these variations of normal within the mysterious world of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. There is so much conflicting information, it’s HARD to shift through everything to find the options that make the most sense for you and your family.
In pursuit of becoming a doula, I decided to ditch the Google and combat fear with facts. I went back to school for Maternal and Child Health at the University of Texas Health Science Center and became certified with DONA International as a labor doula. I love providing evidence-based, full-spectrum care for people who are expecting— whether that’s prenatal support appointments, hip squeezes, or that desperately needed postpartum hug. When you select me as your doula, I am your whole-hearted cheerleader every step of the way.
If you are currently expecting and are looking for a doula in the Central Texas area, I would love to speak with you about how I can best support you through your pregnancy!
